As part of it’s mission to build a healthier Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community, Healthy Charlotte Alliance launched a yearly educational event with the goal of making health information available to the public. These events have ranged from a full-day seminar with multiple speakers to an educational luncheon. This event is now referred to as Healthy Charlotte Alliance’s Community Health Classroom.



Healthy Charlotte Alliance  is thrilled to welcome a wonderful team from Southeast Psych.  

They will offer a comprehensive overview of Autism and Autism Disorder.

  • Frank Gaskill, Ph. D.
    Frank Gaskill, Ph. D.

    Frank W. Gaskill is a licensed psychologist who specializes in Asperger’s, effective parenting, and how technology and kids can interface successfully. He is a founding partner at Southeast Psych with a large psychology practice in Charlotte, North Carolina. Gaskill is the co-author of Max Gamer, a graphic novel about Asperger’s.He has been a panelist at Comicon, San Diego for his work with Max Gamer and NBC Charlotte covered a news story on his trip to San Diego with his Aspie Superhero. His work has been featured in USA Today, on NPR, and in newspapers around the country.

  • Mary B. Moore, MSW, LCSW
    Mary B. Moore, MSW, LCSW

    As a child therapist at Southeast Psych, Mary B. Moore, LCSW specializes in social and emotional skill development, anxiety, Asperger’s, grief/loss and parenting.  Mary B.’s passion is helping children and parents develop the skills to be their best so that they can experience success. Mary B. is co-founder of The Epiphany School of Charlotte, a small non-profit independent school dedicated to providing proven programs for students with Aspergers and other social communication challenges. Epiphany provides a safe nurturing environment where students develop the skills to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically for today and into the future.”

  • Kelley Bolton, Psy. D.
    Kelley Bolton, Psy. D.

    Kelley Bolton is a licensed psychologist who specializes in Asperger’s in females, and she uses a relational and integrative approach to therapy in order to help girls and young women build the social, thinking and emotional coping skills needed to navigate the world, experience healthy relationships with others, and grow in confidence and self-esteem. Other areas of clinical expertise include: anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, identity development, and spiritual issues.

    She is a proud alum of the University of Alabama, loves college football, and has a slight addiction to arts and crafts supplies.

  • Josh Jensen, M.A., L.M.F.T.
    Josh Jensen, M.A., L.M.F.T.

    Josh Jensen is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in working with children and adults who are on the Autistic Spectrum through individual, couple, family, and group therapy. He is passionate about helping others find and maintain emotional balance, build healthy relationships, and address existential and spiritual needs. He is co-author of the book CinemAnalysis and contributes regularly to blogs and podcasts that connect psychological principles with pop culture.

    Darci Carter, SSP

    Darci Carter has worked in a variety of schools within the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, not only as a School Psychologist, but also as a School Counselor for 7+ years. Currently, she is providing educational advocacy and consulting through Mind Matters at Southeast Psych. Through her own professional and personal experiences (raising 2 daughters), Darci helps to simplify the Special Education and 504 processes for parents while advocating for their children’s rights. In addition, she assists current Charlotte families and those relocating to the Charlotte area with finding schools that fit their child’s educational/learning needs.

 All of the clinicians speaking at the Community Health Classroom are with the Aspire Program at Southeast Psych.  Aspire inspires and serves people on the autism spectrum, believing in the gifts of the uniquely wired mind. We are a group of clinicians who are passionate about collaborating with people on the autism spectrum. We offer a wide range of services across the lifespan for children and adults, families and groups, parents, and couples.
